Howden Re CEO Tim Ronda joined The Voice of Insurance podcast to discuss the evolution of the reinsurance market, Howden Re’s client-first philosophy, and where growth opportunities lie as the cycle shifts.
“Our story is built on the talented people we have accumulated - it is their ability to drive client growth and give a different type of service that creates lasting impact. When we get people right, revenue follows naturally.”
He reflected on the need for balance and collaboration across the industry: “There are three parties to a deal - the original cedant, the reinsurer and then there’s the broker - and for the market to be fully functioning, it’s got to work for all three parties.”
Looking ahead, Ronda said the coming years will test leadership and reward disciplined execution.
“In 2026 and 2027, management teams are going to earn their money because they’re going to have to be selective and intelligent about where they choose to grow.”
