Watch the highlights of Howden Re’s Nordics renewal insights event

Last month, Howden Re was delighted to host clients and partners at our Nordics renewal insights event, to discuss what’s shaping the reinsurance market across the region, from pricing dynamics and capital flows to evolving risk exposures and the practical implications for 1 January renewals.

In a market that is re-balancing rather than resetting, conversations matter. Open dialogue, shared perspective, and clear thinking about where opportunity and volatility intersect will be essential for navigating the changing landscape.

One theme came through strongly: collective power matters. When we bring together local expertise, global insight, and open collaboration, we’re better equipped to navigate uncertainty and shape the future of our industry together.

David Flandro, Howden Re’s Head of Business Intelligence & Strategic Advisory, discussed Howden’s 1.1.2026 Renewal Report, 'Re-Balancing', highlighting how rate movements and capacity conditions at this renewal point are shaping the marketplace and offering opportunity in an evolving cycle.

Martin Hedberg, Natural Disaster & Climate Specialist, examined future risk scenarios and underscored the increasing relevance of climate science in risk planning and resilience.

Charlie Langdale, CEO of Humanity Insured, brought a human-centric perspective to the conversation, highlighting the essential work the re/insurance industry can bring its expertise and capital to, reminding us that behind every market shift lies real impact on people and communities.

In an interview, Monica Cramér Manhem, Independent Non-Executive Director and former CEO of Sirius International, shared her leadership insights on navigating a reinsurance landscape in transition.

Finally, our panel featuring Monica, David and Sebastian Cook Deputy CEO, Howden Re International, and moderated by Tobias Andersson, Head of Continental Europe, Howden Re, reflected on the broader market outlook and what lies ahead in a re-balancing world.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to a thoughtful and forward-looking discussion.
