About John
John Conway is a Managing Director at Howden Re and is based in the New York City office. John joined the firm in 2023 and is actively involved in the expansion of Howden Re’s MGA programs business, working with managing general agents, balance sheet insurers and reinsurers. John is particularly active in the excess and surplus lines space most notably on multiline, portfolio wide whole account and consortium related transactions.
Prior to joining Howden Re, John was a Senior Vice President at Acrisure Re (formerly known as Beach and Associates) where he helped develop the firms MGA business presence in the Northeast, working with both third party and Acrisure owned MGA’s. John’s involvement in E&S program business grew significantly during his time at Acrisure Re where he was involved in treaty reinsurance placements and MGA capacity structuring within the builders risk, casualty construction, flood and other peak CAT driven property segments such as HPR, Habitational and LRO . Over the course of his career, John has designed and implemented various single shot E&S MGA programs including consortium facilioties and niche casualty construction programs. John was instrumental in designing and implementing various multiline marine construction and USL&H related offerings for the longshore and marine construction industries and has worked extensively on large national account business.
